All Day Textural Tapestry Weaving Class at the MAVWA Fiber Arts Festival in Durango, CO 9am-5pm
In this workshop you will create a beautiful 5” x 8” textural tapestry. This class introduces frame loom weaving techniques, encouraging exploration of texture, color, and a variety of materials. Students will learn the fundamental elements of weaving including how to set up a loom, while encouraged to play and experiment.
Instruction also covers tapestry design, working with color, and techniques for creating rich, dynamic textures.
Students will leave this workshop with a small wall hanging and 2 sizes of frame looms from Hello Looms so you can continue your weaving practice anywhere.
SKILL LEVEL: All levels
WHAT TO BRING: All materials & supplies are provided.
MATERIALS INCLUDED: Looms, warp thread, felted Merino wool, Merino wool roving, acrylic yarn in a multitude of colors, scissors, plastic needles, dowel rods.
MATERIALS FEE: $40 payable to the instructor.
